Sweatson Klank - Elevate Me Review
You may be more familiar with Sweatson Klank's other work under the name 'Take' and his Alphapup effort entitled 'Only Mountain' which certified his place as a key player in the beat scene. Just over two years later we have been given his Project Mooncircle effort entitled 'Elevate me'. This defeinitely lends itself to a new face of the producer by exploring the more so dancefloor oriented music that's obviously still got its roots in the beat scene.
Takes Neon Beams from Only Mountain
The ep is driven by deep sub-bass' with R&B-esque vocals organically dipping into each track that's complimented with all of that synthy goodness.
I'm trying to describe a sound that i'm not quite sure how to define. One thing is certain, this ep is oozing with style and will get your head boppin' for sure. On first listening it reminded me of a similiar direction explored by Alphapup's recent release by sexytime that would be more suited to being played out loud rather than through headphones. This is a very different direction to the offbeat venture explored by Take in his earlier release 'Only Mountain'. Perhaps we can even hope for a remix series as before!
A stand out track for me would have to be 'In Between'. It explores a real eyes down vibe as the sub sweeps throughout the entire track whilst the droning sample falls in and out of the track seamlessly. Then we have these synthy keys that sound like they're straight from the 80's elevating through the track beautifully.
The man's been kind enough to give us free downloads in the past so I suggest if you're feeling this then support it buy a purchase, you won't be disappointed.
