After a bit of discussion between the three of us we've come up with our selection of free mixtapes that are really worth hearing. These are all releases that we would've been happy spending our cash on but these good guys have hooked us up, for free. In no particular order:

1. Yuk. - Of Wilderness
Where: Here
Chosen by: Nice
An impressive offering from the My Hollow Drum candidate. Yuk. Has remixed the likes of Ras G, Teebs, Run DMT, Ahnnu, Mane Mane and Ana Caravelle. We are also treated to remixes and features by the likes of Anenon, Devonwho, Knxwledge and Mndsgn, overall a pretty impressive roster! If you fancy something to sit back and fade out to this is my suggestion, full of soft, spacey sounds and bouncing bass'.

2. eLan - FamLay
Where: Here
Chosen by: King Khan
It was difficult to choose between this and eLans magnificent mistakes, however, FamLay takes it on shear heat. A stand out track for me is 'Health Master 3000 (ft Marzio)', it evolves from some LFO'ed goodness reminiscent of the UK scene into some beautiful composition of ascending/descending blips and bleeps, awesome stuff. You've also got a collaboration with Devenwho aptly titled 'eLevenwho' with it's bouncy bass line, trademark Devonwho synths and melodic 8 bit keys.

3. Sound healers Vol. 1
Where: Here
Chosen by: Kotar
We posted Vol.2 previously, although the first Volume is more likeable upon first play through. Got a lot of love for this due to the fact that all the artists on the compilation are British. S.maharba's track off the compilation stands out, with his sexual sounds motif.

4. Juj - Slack
Where: Here
Chosen by: King Khan
This 16 track album is instantly likeable, full of melodic looped samples that dance through the tunes perfectly. A head nodder for sure, particularly with tracks such as 'My Room', 'Pomegranate Limeade' and 'Floater' standing out for myself. Check it!
5. Groundislava - Book Of Tech
Where: Here
Chosen by: King Khan
Full of lots of 8 bit inspired magic and low fi bass' this ep ranks very highly, it's one of those ep's you'll have on repeat for the first few days as you get lost in the video game-esque beatscape that Groundislava has delivered. It's difficult to pick out a stand alone track as all are equally worthy, but personally 'Creeper Shit' gets me every time, I mean, that bass 'drop', damn.
6. Matthewdavid - Jewelry
Where: Here
Chosen by: Kotar
Leaving Records founder, Matthewdavid released a free mixtape called 'Jewelry' earlier this year that really shows his style and influence in the form of his remixes. One of the best tracks has to be (Diamond Ring Deele Flip) a remix of the old group 'The Deele's famous track Two Occasions.

7. Earnest Blount - Dr Bount's Extended Sound Play
Where: Here
Chosen by: King Khan
Very interesting bit of experimental music here, full of ambience and a musty atmosphere these tracks are initially enveloped in 'what's going on' until you hear that originally undecipherable melody/sample warp into a wonderfully crafted bit of sound. Give this a chance before you put it down, especially the track 'Aum'.

8. Pop Massacre Vol. 1
Where: Here
Chosen by: King Khan
This one's always a good one to chuck on with a group of mates and try and figure out the original tune. This 12 track compilation has mashed up some well known pop tunes into something much more listenable. We've got a bit of Spice Girls, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Abba to name a few, but... we also have Shlohmo, Groundislava, Devonwho, Strangeloop and Asura flipping these tracks, very interesting compilation.

9. Brainfeeder Sampler
Where: Here
Chosen by: Kotar
This is probably the best introduction you can have into the beat scene. Label of the year 'Brainfeeder' released this compilation to showcase you the talents Brainfeeder has to offer featuring Austin Perelta, Thundercat, Lapalux, The Gaslamp Killer, Tokimonsta, Mono/Poly, Martyn, Teebs, Samiyam, Matthewdavid, Jeremiah Jae and Taylor Mcferrin. Each with their own exploration into the beat scene taking you on many different directions and detours through this wonderful msuic.

10. Jon Wayne - This Is False
Where: Here
Chosen by: King Khan
Here we have the big mans rap mixtape which jacks beats from J Dilla, Flying Lotus, Samiyam among others. With fellow rapper Zeroh spitting on a few tracks we're given the perfect bridge between rap and the tripped out beat scene.
